Over a span of days on the island, the city's presence showed up in two distinct but connected forms: a fashion and sneaker activation from Harlem's Fashion Row that put Atlanta-born designer Jai Lyle in a national spotlight, and Silicon South House, a tech and culture gathering hosted by RenderATL that brought Mayor Andre Dickens and a cohort of Atlanta founders, funders and creatives to the Martha's Vineyard Museum.

"The South got something to say, and the South is saying it right now in Silicon South and through Render ATL," Dickens said, "through all of your advocacy and the hard work that you're doing in uplifting your businesses."

The mayor framed the gathering's purpose in economic terms, telling the room the point of building out Atlanta's tech ecosystem was to make sure prosperity reaches further than it currently does.
